WEDDING PLANNING - A FEW HANDY TIPS

So you are walking down the aisle at last! Of course you must have dreamt of this day a hundred times over and it’s natural for you to be super excited. You probably know exactly what your ceremony must look like and you surely must have all the details ready in your head. But you see, the wedding also involves another person namely your husband/wife-to-be and he/she must also have similar dreams and aspirations so make sure you discuss what you want your wedding to be like with him/her in detail. Let this dream be a mutual one and not just the fulfillment of just one of your wishes.

Ok now that’s done get down together to clear up the basics. As you know weddings have a number of little responsibilities that need looking after. Food, entertainment, drinks, decoration…there are a hundred and one little details here and there which someone has to take care of. It’s important that you and your future-spouse decide which responsibilities will be taken over by whom. Involve your friends and family of course, since this isn’t the sort of stress you would want to add to the already stressful job of getting married (!), be clear as to who will finally be looking after what.

The number of people you would like to invite to your special day and the kind of food and refreshments you would like to entertain them with will to a large extent determine the kind of money you will have to spend to bring this dream to life. A number of other factors, like the site of the wedding, the kind of music you would want to have (live or otherwise) , decoration, the attires for the bride and groom etc. will all add to the ultimate cost of the wedding. Budget wise you can either have a small, medium or a big wedding. A small wedding will cost you between $1000 and $10,000 and will accommodate 150 or even less number of guests. A medium wedding on the other hand will easily accommodate 200-300 guests and will be wrapped up in $22,000 or roundabout. A big wedding is only advisable if you have good money to spend and if you, quite simply, do not care about the expenses. It can cost anywhere between $40,000 and $200,000 and are usually lavish affairs which have over 500 guests.

Decide the on the sort of wedding which works best for you and your future spouse, and please do be realistic, everyone is sentimental about this particular day in their lives but that is no reason to go overboard. Try and do all your planning way before you mean to have the actual affair and steer clear of stress, weddings are always full of surprises and delayed deliveries and various other tiny bits of glitches here and there, but don’t get panicked, a million other people have gone through this day despite such obstacles. So relax, you don’t want to have ugly stress lines all over your face on your wedding day! Make sure you have a wedding you will remember for the rest of your life and that you invite all the people you love and care about, every wedding surrounded by friends and loved ones ultimately turn out to be perfect. Best of Luck!
